As many men went into battle, many years ago,
Little did we know back then, how many lives would go!
The impact this has had on us, is tenfold to repay back,
what these, truly strong, and gallant men did for us
back then!
I for one remember them, in the only way we should,
for loss of blood, of limb and life, that no one should
have suffered!
The battle wasnt' really won, it still goes on today,
With many lives still being lost, it fills us with dismay!
When will the needless loss of life come unto an end,
I really hope its very soon, it needs bringing to an end!

Well done, this is obviously something that touches you deeply enough to write about it, you know what you must do.
In artistic merit I say well done.
God Bless
Tim

I like your poem Spiritguide, its a very emotive subject.
Reminded me of a piece I wrote a few years ago, along the same lines, so I dug it out to share with you.
Sufferance
The dogs of war lie dead tonight, blank sounds of a midnight raid.
Fallen bodies scattered wide, beside the gates of justice.
The scars remind us of the bloody battle,
memories crowd all our waking thoughts,
peace is denied at any cost, a futuristic hell.
And can anyone, can anyone delay,
The massacre of innocents, can anyone repay?
And can anyone, can anyone repay,
The haunted civil war child, who was crucified that day.
We thought the inner walls were guarded,
Troops were armed with loaded guns.
Didn't see the naked army, forge ahead with blazing lights.
No one wanted to smell death tonight, no one saw the weapons drawn,
No one wanted to die tonight, conscience rising with the dawn.
And can anyone, can anyone delay,
The massacre of innocents, can anyone repay?
And can anyone, can anyone repay,
The haunted civil war child, who was crucified that day.
No one saw this coming,
No one heard the siren call.
No one wanted anyone to die for them.
Reminded me of a piece I wrote a few years ago, along the same lines, so I dug it out to share with you.
